Well Mary Beth went to school on Monday morning after waking and proclaiming that the weather guy lied again. It hadn't even snowed one bit. Then she walked out giving me my last orders of the day. Go shopping cause she didn't want to go without food like in July when we went without electric for 8 days.
Dutifully I left and went to the store and stocked up on lunchables, filled the van up with gas and went home to make a huge pot of chili. By 10 am the snow started and school was released early.
So glad that happened because I don't want to know what her reaction would have been if no snow fell at all.
What you might not know is that the ground was so warm that the snow did not lay at first. After a night of cold the snow finally started to snow. We woke Tuesday to about 8-10 inches of wet heavy snow and one very happy child. It seems that we hardly received much of a snow fall because our neighbours in the county had upwards of 3-4 feet.
We realized how lucky we were because no loss of power, snow has melted with the rain, and no trees fell from the weight of the snow. So much for preparing for Sandy. Of course I did not have to cook that much because she ate Lunchables and I had soup. Here it is Thursday and they have yet to go back to school. I am definitely ready for it to come. Tomorrow kids start back just in time for the weekend, trick or treating, and 4-H meeting. I will post more pictures soon.
Thanks for posting but seriously Lunchables? What the h e double hockey sticks woman? lol a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do !
ReplyDeleteOH I had more than Lunchables to eat. But she thinks that the world stops if she doesn't have a back up. That is her comfort food and we have some for her to take to school now.
